Hagar was a slave, used by her master to give birth to a son. She made the mistake of treating her mistress with contempt as she couldn't conceive. But, she suffered the consequences and ran awvay from her mistress. There in the wilderness, God saw her and blessed her. You might be in a wilderness situation. Your life might have been harder, so far just like slavery. But, don't let your wilderness or your burden overwhelm you. There's a God who sees you, hears your cry and is willing to take you out of your misery and bless you!
His grace is a gift, not something we can earn: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesians 2:8–9
